A large serving tray

As I settle into my new working environment I am starting to turn my attention to a series of projects for clients. Over the next few months I hope to document a range of projects that are coming through the studio and upload them here as a record of my own personal project journal.

Here I am making another one of my serving trays, this time it is made for a specific customer who wishes for a larger tray than the one published on my website. I was able to work to her requirements, by selecting some wider material that I had in stock and building a clamping jig to ensure good even pressure for assembly. The material for this project is oak and cat’s paw oak with an oil finish and I’ll be showcasing this project as part of my portfolio when finished and available to purchase through my online store.
